Siemens SCALANCE WAM700 and WUM700 Industrial Wi-Fi 6

Siemens SCALANCE WAM700 and WUM700
Industrial Wi-Fi 6
Purpose-built wireless connectivity for mobile automation, dense device populations, and demanding industrial networks.
SCALANCE W access points and client modules use IEEE 802.11ax, commonly called Wi-Fi 6, to increase data throughput per device and improve spectrum efficiency when many clients communicate at the same time. Siemens lists up to 1,201 Mbit/s gross data throughput per device and uses OFDMA to support efficient simultaneous communication.
Optional Siemens iFeatures extend standard wireless networking with capabilities for industrial mobility and availability, including roaming in less than 50 milliseconds, WLAN redundancy with iPRP, and real-time communication support for PROFINET and PROFIsafe.
Where the platform fits
The family is positioned for applications such as automated guided vehicles, mobile HMIs, video transmission, augmented-reality service tools, and remote operation of machines and cranes. Siemens offers device options for control-cabinet installation and rugged IP65-rated environments, supported by an ecosystem of antennas, cabling, mounting accessories, and removable configuration media.
Plan the complete wireless system
Select the access point, client module, antennas, enclosure rating, power method, regional radio variant, licenses, and optional industrial features for the actual environment. Coverage, interference, roaming behavior, network segmentation, cybersecurity, and application performance should be validated before production deployment.
How BEA can help: Britton Electronics & Automation can assist with industrial wireless assessment, component selection, antenna and coverage planning, integration with automation networks, commissioning, and lifecycle support.

WAGO 221 Series Green Range Splicing Connectors

WAGO 221 Series
Green Range Splicing Connectors
The familiar lever-operated connection method with a plastic mix designed to keep more existing resources in circulation.
WAGO reworked its 221 Series Splicing Connector with Levers using partially bio-circular and recycled plastics. The housing uses 77% bio-circular polycarbonate, while the lever contains at least 27% recycled PBT derived in part from post-consumer PET.
WAGO states that the Green Range version retains the same technical data, certifications, copper, spring steel, and supported applications as the standard 221 Series connector. This allows sustainability goals to be considered without introducing a different connection method for installers and maintenance teams.
Approximately two-thirds of the connector's total plastic uses the more sustainable material mix. WAGO also packages the product in grass paper containing up to 30% grass fiber and approximately 70% recycled paper.
Application note: Confirm the selected catalog number, conductor types and sizes, electrical ratings, approvals, enclosure requirements, and environmental conditions against WAGO's current product documentation before use.

S4B Safety
Light Curtains
Heavy-duty Type 4 presence-sensing safeguards with expanded finger- and hand-detection lengths.
Banner S4B emitter and receiver pairs support 14 mm finger detection and 30 mm hand detection across lengths from 300 mm to 1800 mm, including new 1350 mm, 1500 mm, 1650 mm, and 1800 mm options.
BEA applies safety light curtains as part of complete machine-safeguarding systems, with documented risk assessment, safety-distance calculation, mounting, control integration, validation, and operator training.
The S4B provides a practical range of protective heights and resolutions for point-of-operation and access-guarding applications where intrusion detection must initiate a safe machine stop.

DX700ER Ethernet
Data Radio
Wireless Ethernet connectivity for flexible industrial machine and equipment layouts.
The Banner DX700ER replaces long Ethernet cable runs with a wireless link, helping reduce installation work and providing more flexibility when machines or equipment cannot be connected economically with cable.
BEA applies industrial wireless technology where a planned radio path, proper antenna placement, and maintainable network design can improve connectivity without sacrificing operational reliability.
The DIN-rail-mountable radio can be installed inside a protected enclosure, including a metal cabinet, while its external antenna connector allows the antenna to be positioned for stronger signal quality and dependable range.
